We are constantly reminded of the fragility of life by the things that happen around us. This morning our son was witness to a tragic highway accident. The most innocent was killed and the one at fault walked away. We do not know our time so it is good to always be prepared and know the status of our eternal destiny. Christ is the answer! My prayers are with those mentioned above.

I'm blessed, through the total commitment and support of my husband, to be home educating my kids, so I spend a lot of time with them and am able to talk and share with them regularly. This not only makes the most of our precious moments, but my husband and I explicitly teach them to LIVE, to realize that any moment could be our last. Sadly, this truth is right before us now as a dear fellow Scout mom has just had Hospice brought into her home. Her husband and two boys, 18 and 14, are truly counting each moment with their beautiful mom/wife. Please pray for Joanne and her family.

After the Doc ordered a prostate biopsy following a high PSA, I felt hard pangs of mortality, though all turned out well. As Michelle writes, this focuses us on family and other great goodnesses in life.

If I only had a year to live I'd spend a lot of time telling my family how much they mean to me, and affirming everyone else. We live in such a negative world, people seem to lose track of what is valuable in them.

Oswald Chambers, today, talked about how often we lose sight of how our spiritual walk affects other people. Klasko's friend is an example of someone who is focused on the right thing: Jesus.

Life is so fragile and so precious. We take it for granted until we are pulled up short by an event that reminds us of our mortality. I was reminded of this when I heard of a young girl who died in a car accident last weekend, and in a subsequent attempted visit of the bereaved family, another girl was seriously injured in another accident. Would that we kept the value of life before us all the time...

Went to visit a terminally ill brother in Christ this past weekend. The foreknowledge of his demise has made his walk with the Lord sweeter, given his love for his wife and family more ardor, made simple pleasures mory joyful and friendships deeper.

Every day his household wakes up taking to heart the verse, "This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."

This brother who has taught me so much over the years is teachig me about living and dying for the Lord.

He has taught me to number my days...
