George Bush has given us all foreign policy experience.

The candidates moreover are senators who, unlike governors, sit on committees that involve foreign policy.

McCains military service is less relevant than his much longer tenure as a Senator and membership and actions on foreign and military committees in the Senate. In this regard he has the others beat hands down! The only similarity at all between these candidates is they all share the current title "Senator".

McCain has also been reelected several times to the position. Neither of the others could say they have the support of their own constituents and the record of their continuing support.

Unlike 1996 and 1992. One candidate in those races famously "loathed the military," and led anti-American demonstrations on foreign soil.

But, don't dare question anyone's patriotism.

Why does occupying an 8x8 cell for 6 years count as foreign policy experience?

Maybe it's just the setup for Barack's punchline?

(For that matter, why does Hillary being first lady count as foreign policy experience?)

I think McCain's foreign policy experience is a lot more than being a pilot and a prisoner. I guess all the rest of his life doesn't matter. A honest cartoonist would have run out of room for him.
