It seems off that World Mag criticizes the notion that Evvie = Republican. This publication has plays a substantial role in reinforcing the notion that “true” Christians are religious right types. Anything less will get you accused of being a compromiser.

I’ll anxiously await the day when World Mag gives page space (or web space) to evangelicals who, like me, believe that the pro-choice position is more consistent with Biblical ethics than the pro-criminalization (aka “pro-life”) position.

Kiyo…..correct me if I am wrong in my understanding. Am I to understand that the term “evvie” refers to an evangelical? I’ve seen that term a few times since I came to WoW from various folks. Just wanted to be sure, is all. :)

I do not agree in your position that “pro-choice” is closer to biblical principles than pro-life is.
Pro-choice these days is understood to equate with pro-abortion. How can you justify saying the pro-life position is in bed with criminalization? Makes absolutely no sense to me.

    could you educate me?

Sin of all kinds, including abortion, is not what keeps people out of heaven in the end. Many “sinners” will be welcomed into heaven by a forgiving and merciful God, according to the promises we have from God in His word.

What keeps people (all of whom are sinners) out of heaven in the end will be their refusal to repent of or even feel shame about their sin, regardless of how egregiously evil it is.

The work of the Adversary (Satan) does not end with successful seduction into sin. It continues in earnest in the process of proud self-justification of sin.

Joel, good point. And I am ever encouraged by Philippians 2…..That every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father.

see that? EVERY tongue confess……Satan, RDEAN, Christopher Hitchens, my brother Tim, Theo Godwynn……They have the responsibility to do it now, well, except that loser, Satan.
