In case you missed it, the Hollywood strike is over and TV writers are back to work dreaming up new scenarios for America’s favorite shows. ABC News has the scoop on when to expect many shows to resume. Bad news for “24″ fans: Its new season was postponed until 2009.

  1. There was a strike in Hollywood? Who was striking?
I thought the big news was that a beagle won the Westminster Dog show. Now that’s big!
    ;-)

  2. Chas, Westminster notwithstanding;) it was big news out here in California because it was a collective stand against a real labor problem. Many people sacrificed a lot to stand in unity against an unfair system. It is unfortunate the MSM only showed clips of the millionaires walking the lines. Many people in LA knew someone who was affect (like the guy sleeping on their couch).

Now I can get back to the negociations of my screenplay that was on hold:)

I was looking forward to 24! Half were filmed, but I guess the actors who came from all over (even Canada, HRW!) had other commitments. The president is a woman in the latest season.

The strike was worth it, though. With all the money at stake, why shouldn’t the writers get their fair share? And maybe the execs out there will realize we went on with our lives, too, so they’ll stop all the other nonsense they do with tv!

  4. Like the Aussies say. No worries mate. Won’t miss one of the shows a bit. Here is a hint - Neither should you :-)

  5. The TV before the strike was bad (and harmful to society to boot). It will continue to be bad (and harmful).

Maybe we should be fining the writers and producers and directors and actors?
