TIME’s 100
TIME just released its fifth annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people. On the list this year are such individuals as Ben Bernanke, Randy Pausch, Michael Bloomberg, Mehmet Oz, Mark Zuckerberg, Khaled Hosseini, Suze Orman, and Tyler Perry.
What do you think of the selections? Is there anyone who shouldn’t have made the list–or anyone who got overlooked?

What I found interesting is that while the magazine featured the three current presidential candidates the top of their list, the readers put them at 53, 57, 183. Mike Huckabee was number 9.
They have omitted me yet again. I will not tolerate this much longer. I have evil powers.
Michael Bloomberg a “thinker”??? He’s just a busnessman turned politician to me.
Isn’t this list as subjective as People’s 100 most beautiful people?? I also think that it is more like America’s most influential people.
Who did they miss? My parents and friends. Political and religious thinkers who wrote books and recorded lectures that I’ve read and heard. Teachers I’ve had. None of them are on this list. Then again, Time magazine would have you accept the federalism/liberalism notions that they promote rather than recognize that the most influential people are the ones closest to you and not some elite group of blow hards.
I liked how they called Al Gore a “martyr,” then talked about how much influence he had. If he still has all that much influence (and most certainly is not dead), how has he been “martyred”? The only influence he lost was over people who never agreed with him in the first place.
Judging by their list of names, they may be right, but then, I may be outside the sphere of most of those people’s influence! Suze Orman? Come on!
